VP Business Development

Location: North America
Reports to: Group COO & President North America

This position is a pure hunter role, ”Prospect-Evaluate-Propose-Close," selling FlexTecs’ full range of solutions into the retail, finance, and merchandising space at large, complex retailers. Solutions include, but are not limited to: Transformational Recovery Audit, Contract Compliance, and the new FT Labs innovation hub focused on delivering innovative technology solutions for our clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating, maintaining, and closing a high value pipeline. The role will include working closely with team subject matter experts, operational leaders and other sales partners, and may require planning and speaking at client or industry events.

The position will work remotely with travel within the North America. 

Role & Responsibilities:
  • A proven new business hunter: self-motivated to generate, cultivate, frame-up price deals and establish large scale relationships to drive new business revenue of established company revenue targets
  • Identify barriers to entry and create client solutions + compelling reasons for clients to choose FlexTecs as their solutions provider
  • Account Management - ongoing management of closed new accounts and including growing the accounts through identification of expansion opportunities
  • Undertake pro-active sales and marketing activities to convert potential prospects into clients
  • Assist in the creation, definition, and implementation of the sales strategy, approach, and objectives for the target market
  • Identify key opportunities and work with the pre-sales function to craft suitable and compelling proposals
  • Lead the routine RFP processes, internal bid review, approval processes, sales reporting, and pipeline management with a relentless focus on closing accounts
  • Develop and maintain senior level (C-level) relationships within target market / accounts in order to maximize sales opportunities
  • Take Go-To-Market Solutions to the target market and accounts
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction by working closely with the operational teams to meet and exceed the committed service quality levels
  • Assisting Operations managers in selling new services and expanding existing audit scope

Work Experience and Requirements:
  • Degree-level-education desirable
  • 10+ years of related new business development experience in a high growth environment, ideally with inside sales experience
  • Experience in end-to-end management of the sales pipeline from prospecting to close - hunter mentality with a track record of high-rate closings
  • Knowledge of Retail Industry and experience selling to Retail, Finance, and Procurement
  • Experience in selling in technology solutions is a huge plus
  • Demonstrates good ability to detect and qualify business opportunities
  • Experience in B2B / P2P processes and software
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of computer systems and communication tools
  • Work experience should include:
    • Solid track record of cold calling and scheduling meetings with S&P 500, complex retail, and commercial companies
    • Proven sales record adding high number of new clients
    • Experience preparing proposals, RFP responses, and negotiating terms
    • Experience developing relationships with senior procurement contacts
  • Self-starter - able to work independently with a results-oriented focus and sense of urgency (with all deliberate speed)
  • Experience with working collaboratively with different personalities and cultures inside and outside of the organization
  • Ability to travel frequently
